SENTINEL Laminated Glass is a toughened safety glass comprising two or more sheets of glass bonded by a plastic interlayer typically of Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate (EVA). This EVA layer is sandwiched between the glass panels and heated under vacuum pressure to achieve the final bounded product. When shattered, the glass fragments stick to the plastic interlayer, helping to increase safety. Because of its increased strength, it allows architects and builders far greater scope in their application of glass in buildings.

Laminated Glass is specified for added safety where there is a possibility of human impact or where glass could fall if shattered, e.g. in glass canopies, and in particular for glass balustrades protecting a fall of more than a metre. Other architectural applications include stair treads, floors and curtain wall glazing.
